Newsletter – August 2010
Dear Students and Parents,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer. As you all know by now, Ms Debbie has relocated to Ecuador and I am writing my first newsletter as principal of the school now called – Academy of Dance Arts.
As a Faculty we are working hard during the summer months to improve further as a school and to ensure that we meet your expectations for the new scholastic year. Some of the changes include administrative matters. All students are now on a database and you will all be receiving regular updates on school events and other matters. We will be reorganising the school and installing vending machines for students and parents. As we are a dance school only healthy beverages and snacks will be offered, namely water, juices, fruit smoothies and cereal bars. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will also be available for parents and senior students.
Our most exciting event is the launching of a new website of the school for parents and students to learn more about the Academy and what it has to offer. We also intend to keep you posted on any upcoming events. Timetable and Uniform information is also available on the website. Every student will be given a login user name and password as members of Dance Arts. The address is: dancearts.com.mt Feel free to pass on the school website address to any friends who may be interested in joining the Academy.
The new term will commence on Monday 4th October 2010. All current students will receive their timetable and other administrative documents by post. However, we are encouraging everyone to register online for all courses commencing in October.
Open days will be held on: Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th September 2010 from 4pm onwards for any new students.
Meanwhile we will be organising pre-term classes for students we feel need extra support before the new term begins, namely Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Grade 4, 5 and 6 students.
Intermediate and Advanced 1 students – Classes will resume on the 6th September 2010 and are compulsory for all students doing their exam in December 2010.
Conditioning/Strengthening classes - Grades 4. 5, 6 pupils are being offered conditioning classes by Mr Robert Scicluna and Ms Rowena Grech to prepare students for the new term. Attendance to these classes is highly encouraged.
Finally all advanced students of Dance Arts will be participating in Dance Power 2010, which will be held on Saturday 30th October 2010. Students will be contacted about rehearsal dates.
Let me know should you require any further information regarding any courses or other matters.
Thanking you all in advance,
Ms Rowena Grech (Principal)
